  • The law of England and Wales applies.

About these terms

These terms apply when you use unscramblewords4u.com (“Unscramble Words 4U”, “the site”). The site is run by Mark Davies (47 Ravenswood Road, London SW12 9PN), an individual based in England, United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). You can contact us at info@unscramblewords4u.com.

By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site. Our privacy policy and cookies page explain how we handle information.

The service

Unscramble Words 4U offers free word tools and games, such as an unscrambler, anagram solver, crossword helpers, hangman, a word search maker, Morse code tools and code and cipher tools. You don’t need an account. We may change, add or remove tools, or pause or stop the site, at any time.

Results and accuracy

Health note: flashing light

The Morse code pages have an optional flashing light. Don’t turn it on if you, or anyone who can see the screen, has photosensitive epilepsy or is sensitive to flashing lights.

Using the site fairly

You may use the tools for yourself, at home, at school or at work. Please don’t:

Linking to any page of the site is welcome.

Our content and the word lists

The design, text and code of the site belong to us, except where we say otherwise.

The word lists are used under their licences. They come from open sources such as SCOWL, ENABLE, Hunspell spelling dictionaries and FrequencyWords, and remain the work of their authors. Each one is used under its own licence, including the GNU GPL, GNU LGPL, Mozilla Public License, CC BY-SA and permissive licences. Those licences, not these terms, decide what you may do with the word lists themselves. See our Licences page and Our word list for the sources, credits and full licence texts.

Things you make with our tools, such as word search puzzles and Morse code sound files, are yours to use as you like, including printing them for a class.

Trademarks

Unscramble Words 4U is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any of these companies or programmes, or by any newspaper or puzzle publisher. We use these names only to describe which games and puzzles our tools can help with. All other trademarks belong to their owners.

Adverts and other websites

The site shows adverts from Google and links to other websites, such as Wiktionary. We don’t control those websites or adverts and are not responsible for them. Buying anything from an advertiser is between you and them.

Our responsibility to you

The site is free, and you use it at your own risk. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss or damage that comes from using the site or relying on its results, or from the site being unavailable. We are not responsible for business losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Children

Children are welcome to use the site. Younger children should use it with a parent, carer or teacher, especially because the site shows adverts that link to other websites. Our privacy policy explains how we look after children’s privacy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example when we add tools or the law changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the site after a change, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales can deal with any dispute. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live in the EU, you keep any protection that the law of your country gives you and cannot be taken away by agreement.

If any part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies.
