Your text stays on your device. Nothing is sent to us or saved, and there is no account to sign in to.
Is this a font generator?
Not quite, and it helps to know why. A font changes how ordinary letters are drawn, and only works where you can choose the font. This tool instead swaps each letter for a different Unicode character that happens to look like a styled letter, for example the mathematical bold capital A or the circled letter A. Because they are characters rather than fonts, they keep their look when you paste them into apps and websites that don’t let you change the font.
Most of these characters come from Unicode’s mathematical letters, which were made for writing formulas. Circled, squared and fullwidth letters come from other parts of Unicode, small capitals from phonetic letters, and upside-down text uses letters that look like upside-down versions of ordinary ones.
Things to know before you use styled text
Screen readers may read styled letters one by one, call them “mathematical bold capital H”, or skip them altogether, so people who use them may not be able to read your text. Search engines and the search box inside many apps may not find words written this way either. Keep important information, such as your name or a link, in plain text, and use styles for decoration.
Some phones, computers and apps don’t have every one of these characters and show empty boxes instead. The bold, italic and script styles work almost everywhere; the squared and black bubble letters are newer and may not show on older devices.
The letter styles only exist for the 26 letters of the English alphabet and, in some styles, the digits 0 to 9. Accents are kept on top of the styled letter. Letters from other alphabets, such as Cyrillic or Greek, stay as they are, but strikethrough and underline work with any alphabet.
Questions and answers
How do I copy fancy text?
Press Copy next to the style you want, then paste it as usual. If your browser blocks copying, select the text in that row and copy it yourself.
Why do I see boxes instead of letters?
The device or app showing the text doesn’t have those characters. Try another style; bold, italic and script are the most widely supported.
Can screen readers read fancy text?
Often not well. Many read each character’s technical name or skip it. Use styled text for decoration only, and keep anything people need to read in plain text.
Does it work with accents and other alphabets?
Accented letters keep their accents. The styles only cover A to Z and some digits, so Cyrillic, Greek and other letters stay unchanged, apart from strikethrough and underline.
Is my text saved anywhere?
No. Everything happens in your browser, and the text is gone when you close the page.
