8---..
How to remember 8
- It sounds like dah-dah-dah-di-dit. Say it out loud as you listen, and learn the rhythm rather than counting dots and dashes.
- 8 has 5 signals: 2 dots and 3 dashes. It takes 15 units of time to send, where a dot is one unit.
- All numbers in Morse code have five signals. 6 to 9 and 0 begin with dashes and end with dots: 8 is 3 dashes followed by 2 dots.
- Once you know the pattern, you can work out every number without memorising a table.
