O---
Remembering O
- It sounds like dah-dah-dah. Say it out loud as you listen, and learn the rhythm rather than counting dots and dashes.
- O has 3 signals: 3 dashes. It takes 11 units of time to send, where a dot is one unit.
- O is roughly the 4th most common letter in English. Morse code gives the shortest codes to the commonest letters, which is why O is quick to send.
- Swap every dot for a dash and every dash for a dot and you get S (...). Learning opposite pairs together helps them stick.
